The Will of

ANN JEGON - née Crompton
Dated 27th day of September 1701

In the Name of God Amen.
    I Ann Jegon of Nafferton in the County of York, widow, being
    weak in body but of perfect mind & memory, do make & ordain
    this my last will & testament in manner following.
5  I give unto Arthur Jegon my Grandson, Son & heir of my Son
    Arthur Jegon, the sum of five shillings.
    Item I do give unto my servant Elizabeth Childs my Brown Calf & I
    do order my executor to pay her three pounds being her wages.
    Item I do give unto Henry Pindar my servant a brown Nagg, & I do
10 order my executor to pay him five pounds & five shillings being
    his wages.
    Item I do give unto Timothy Lovett of Nafferton, my Bald Nagg.
    Item I do give unto Mr Robert Stephenson Minister of Nafferton, the
    Sum of five pounds […]. I do order my executor to pay him.
15 Item I do give all my reale and personal estate and all the right, & title that
    I have or any way may have, to any Reale or personal Estate or to any
    part or portion thereof otherwise in Law or Equity to my good nephew
    Robert Crompton of Little Ruston in the County of York Esq: to him
    his heirs and assigns forever particularly all my right, title interest or
20 claim that I have or any way may have to the inheritance of Catlaine
    in the Parish of Lowthorpe and to the paper Mill in the Parish of Driffield
    & to all the cottages in Nafferton & Wandsworth and elsewhere within this
    Kingdom of England or to any arrears of rent or rents due to me
    out of them and also all my right, title interest or claim that I have or
25 any way may have to the Rectory or Parsonage of Nafferton in the
    County of York or to any arrears of rent or rents due to me from my
    son Robert Jegon, late of Wandsworth, - or since his death and also all the
    right, title, interest or claim that I have to the personal estate of my
    son Robert Jegon, late of Wandsworth or to any part or parts thereof
30 right, title, interest or claim that I have to the personal estate of my
    son Robert Jegon, late of Wandsworth or to any part or parts thereof
    Item I do make my Nephew Robert Crompton aforesaid my sole
    executor and administrator.
    Lastly I do ordain this to stand as my last will and testament according
35 to the […] , intent and meaning of it, and to revoke disallow and make void all
    former wills & deeds of gifts which I have at any time before this promised
