One 'clash' in the line of Sir Adam de Crompton, marked *, is evident. In the Cromptons of Hacking previous research, again unreferenced, refers to John Crompton of Prestolee and London marrying in 27may15?? Eleanor daughter of Ralph Assheto of Gt. Lever, Whalley. Eleanor was born before 1525. In this work Eleanor daughter of Ralph de Assheton of Downton, Lancs married Sir Gosselyn de Crompton about 1323.
