Précis

• His wife Isabella gained responsibility for all Thomas' farming goods and chattels.
• A legacy of £400 is left to his married daughter, Anne Elizabeth WILSON.
• His daughter is also charged with converting his personal estate to cash.
• Thomas draws a distinction between his personal estate and his property and land in Bridlington and Nafferton.
• There is complicated legal language related to his second brother James CROMPTON born 1807' 'which I purchased of my Brother James CROMPTON for his life'. Did Thomas purchase 'from' James and then allow his to used the real estate for James natural life? His daughter and her heirs are charged with continuing Thomas' wishes. This statement is strange because James spent most of his life without any finances: as a labourer, horse doctor, publican and finally a shepherd, dying in the workhouse. The language used needs clarification.
• Thomas' unnamed 'real estate at Bridlington and Nafferton or elsewhere' was willed to his daughter and her heirs.
• Thomas' second brother James, born 1805, of Thornholme and his son-in-law, William WILSON of Harpham Field, were Thomas' executors.
