On 22 July 1939 Charles Henry married Frances SHAW, (GRO ref: Hyde 8a 425) who was ' a maker of fancy leather goods' perhaps working in the same location as her 'boot repairer' father.

| Frances was born in the fourth quarter of 1915. Her mother was a SHARMAN. |
At the time of her wedding the Shaw family lived at 86 Mottram Road, Hyde. Whilst there is a post code for 84 Mottram Road, 86 is missing. It appears that 86 has become part of a larger white roofed building and car park, at the corner of Boston Street.
| It is interesting to note that Charles Henry was a
Draughtsman (Cranes) and possibly living away from home.
His father Whyril(l), recently deceased, is now described as a
'master builder'. He married from 113 Knott Lane, which had been left to
his sister Nellie in her father's will. Later Nellie and Charlie made an arrangement.
Nellie moved to Southampton to live with her husband Alec SHAW, whilst Charlie and
Frances remained in 113, Knott Lane until they moved to Leeds to work for Harper CROMPTON.
