Two years after the birth of her illegitimate daughter Paullina, Elizabeth Crompton married, in
Beverley, in the third quarter of 1839 Richard Hornsey. (GRO ref: Beverley 23, 7)Her
illegitimate daughter was left with her parents in Nafferton. Elizabeth and
Richard then moved to North Newbald where several of the Cromptons lived.
The census shows how their family grew.
