Close info Window

Martha Ann was born 18 March 1847 at The Plantation, Acomb, York, and baptised at St. Stephen's Church, Acomb.

On 11 June 1862 she married Robert SISSONS at Primitive Methodist Chapel, Hutton Cranswick, where the family then lived.

She died 27 March 1867, aged 21, at Hutton Cranswick.

The 1851 census suggests that Robert SISSONS was born in 1847, at Beeford.

Right: Evidence of the site of Martha Ann's birth. Plantation Grove, on the A59 at Acomb and backing on to Acomb Ings and the railway sidings, is now covered by housing and a print works.
