| Beswick Hall, on the opposite side of the road from St Margaret's
church, (just visible in the background of the photograph), is a late Elizabethan manor
house built for the local landowner William DANIEL in c.1600. The house was remodelled in
the 1730s, and more drastically in c.1835, when it was converted into a farmhouse.
