Thomas Richardson and family seem to have move to the Nafferton property around 1814-1815. By 1828 Thomas, the eldest son, probably occupied one of the Bridlington properties, as witnessed by his marriage and his children's christenings documents.
On 4 November 1834 John CROMPTON married Ann JEFFERSON, the girl next door, who's family lived in Greater Houndales.

Originally, in the 1822 will of John's grandfather, Thomas of Bridlington, the properties in Bridlington and Nafferton were to be held in trust by Thomas Richardson CROMPTON until 1832 when it was to pass to Thomas, John's eldest brother. But by 1840 John appeared to be farming Houndales, on his own ...

The farm is not named in any of the census returns. In 1861 it is the tenth building listed by the enumerator.
There are four shapes which create a farm yard image. However, the census only lists one farm in the village and one named farm, Moor Farm, near Two Gates Houses.
