| The marriage of Mr Joseph Walter Blackman, third son of Mr Geo. Black man, and Miss Edith May Miller, only daughter of Mr Richard Miller, Stawell, was quietly celebrated at the residence of the bride’s parents on Wednesday afternoon, the Rev F. Jolly being the officiating clergyman. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a pretty dress of silk with soft trimmings of valenciennes lace, and the customary bridal veil and wreath. She carried a shower bouquet composed of white flowers veiled in asparagus and maiden hair fern with | white satin streamers. Miss Ethel Blackman, sister of the bridegroom, was the only bridesmaid, and was attired in white silk, with trimmings of lace, and carried a bouquet of scarlet geraniums and asparagus fern with scarlet ribbons. Mr A. E. Miller, brother of the bride, acted as best man. After the ceremony wedding tea was served, and the happy couple left by the evening train for Ballarat and Melbourne, the bride travelling in a smart navy blue costume with white felt hat. A number of useful and valuable presents were received. |
