It should be noted that Margaret was just turned 16 years old and of an age when her parents had to give permission for her to marry on 04 August 1900. VivIan Bugden writes 'Margaret’s father told fibs on the marriage document when he said she was 17!!!' It would suggest that at 34 years, Leonard was a more world-wise person.

As far as is known, Lucy was their only child.

Lucy, along with her mother, and her grandparents, Margaret and Wilhelm Odewahn and her uncles, arrived in Parramatta circa 1920-21. It is thought they all lived at Windsor Road, Northmead. Source: Wilhelm's 1923 Obituary.

In 1934-35, Lucy and Harry had moved to 9 Taylor Street, whilst Margaret remained at 3 Taylor Street.

In 1936-37 there was a change of address and occupation:

On 25 September 1939 Lucy and Harry were legally separated but on 11 April 1941 their petition for divorce, on the grounds of habitual drunkenness, cruelty and non-support was dismissed. They were finally divorced on 13 July 1944 in Sydney. The details and dates of the Notice of Decree Nisi, were stamped on their marriage certificate.

Vivian Bugden writes: 'As far as I can ascertain Lucy and Bill (William Thomas CROWDER) never legally married. They lived together in Sydney from 1949 moving to Melbourne in 1953. It is unclear as to exactly when Lucy moved back to NSW - possibly before, or because of, Bill's death in 1961'. William Thomas CROWDER death is not obvious in the Victoria, NSW and ACT records. There is no obvious record of Leonard's death and his great granddaughter is still searching.
