On 04 August 1900 he married Margaret Frederika Sophia ODEWAHN at 'Allora', Coolamon, NSW (NSW BMD:Junee 6370/1900),. She was born on 16 December 1884, at 'Hill and Dale' in Walbundrie near Walla Walla, NSW (NSW BMD:Aldbury 12202/1884), the daughter of Wilhelm and Margaret ODEWAHN. The marriage certificate shows that Margaret was a 17 year old minor, needing her parents written permission to marry and that Leonard was mere labourer, twice her age.

There is no record of Leonard's death in Victoria, NSW or WA from 1900 up to 1993 and his great granddaughter is still searching. Around 1956 there was a newspaper item asking for those who knew Len to contact the ad placer. Lucy decided not to reply.
